Viewing Multiple Yahoo Mail Accounts Simultaneously

So, my first post is not directly related to MUSIC business, (and its also a rather long “snip”) but … I wanted to figure this out in order to create yet ANOTHER yahoo email account for my new twitter account (@MusicBizSnips) to go along with my blog! While I was at it I decided to write down the steps so I’d remember, and I figured some other musicians somewhere must be wondering about this too so …

I’m not sure if there’s an easier way to do this, but here’s how I figured out how to view messages from multiple Yahoo mail addresses in one account. (NOTE: I was in the “Mail Classic” version when I did it):

DISCLAIMER: this method requires a lot of logging in and out to set it up, but once its done it will make life much easier, I promise 😉

1. Sign into Yahoo and click on your Mail tab.
2. Look for the “Options” tab in the top right corner of the screen.
3. Click on “Mail Options” under the Options tab.
4. Click on “Accounts”.

NOW, you can do 1 of 2 things:

1) If you only need ONE extra email address that you want sent to your current Yahoo Mail account, you should see a “Create extra email address” link at the bottom of the page. This link allows you to create ONE “alias” email address that will send messages to your existing inbox.

2) If you need MORE than one extra email address, or you want to add another yahoo mail account you already use, here’s what I did:

For an existing account:

Follow steps 1-4 within the account you want to CHECK (the one you want to add another address to).

5. At the top of the “Accounts” page, click on “Add Account”.
6. In the “Sending Mail” section, fill in the account info of the address you want to ADD.
7. In the “Receiving Mail” section, fill in the account info on the account you want to CHECK (the one you’re currently logged into). Enter “” in the Server box.
8. You should see a pop up that tells you to check your email for a confirmation. Now (as far as I could figure out), you have to LOG OUT of the current account, and LOG IN to the one you want to add to find the confirmation.
9. Find the confirmation email, click the link, and it should direct you to LOG IN to the other account again.
10. If all went well, you should see a pop up message that says your account was successfully added, and you should now receive emails from your second account in your inbox, or whatever folder you assigned. (I created a new folder for each email account, to keep them separate)

For a new account:

Then log out, log back into the account you want to CHECK, and follow steps 1-10.
